Join us at THE DRAWING ROOM for a festive afternoon of creativity with Surrey-based artist, illustrator and surface pattern designer Annabel Hocking.
This Christmas, come and make something personal for your tree, your home or someone special.
Our Christmas Bauble Painting Workshop is a relaxed and playful creative experience where you’ll be guided by Annabel to design and decorate your own ceramic baubles, taking inspiration from the colours, patterns and magic of the festive season.
Whether you’re drawn to traditional Christmas colours, playful patterns, botanical details or something completely unique, you’ll have the freedom to create baubles that feel completely your own.
A Festive Afternoon to Paint, Personalise & Create
With your own table to work from, you’ll have plenty of space to explore your ideas and create at your own pace.
Annabel will guide you through ideas for creating your own festive designs, sharing simple techniques for working with colour, pattern and decorative details.
You don’t need to be an experienced artist — this workshop is all about experimenting, having fun and creating something personal.
Choose from our selection of small and large ceramic baubles, then decide how you’d like to finish your creations.
Option One: Paint & Take Home
Use acrylic paints and our special finishing glaze to decorate your bauble, then take your finished piece home with you at the end of the workshop.
Perfect if you’re excited to hang your new creation on the tree straight away.
Option Two: Pottery Paint & Fire
Decorate your bauble using our pottery paints, then leave it with us to be glazed and kiln-fired.
Your finished ceramic bauble will be ready to collect once it has been fired, giving you a beautiful, durable finish to enjoy for years to come.
You can choose whichever finish suits you — and with a full three hours, there’s plenty of time to create more than one bauble if you feel inspired.
Meet the Artist: Annabel Hocking
Annabel Hocking is a Surrey-based artist, illustrator and surface pattern designer whose work is inspired by gardens, wild places, travel and the beauty found in everyday moments.
Her colourful and expressive work captures the feeling of a place, from sun-dappled tables and winding garden paths to coastal swims and treasured memories gathered along the way.
With a background in architecture and more than five years of experience teaching art workshops, Annabel is passionate about helping people discover the joy and confidence that creativity can bring.
Through her artwork and teaching, she encourages people to slow down, observe the world around them and find inspiration in nature, colour and the simple pleasures of everyday life.
For this festive workshop, Annabel will help you explore your own ideas and turn them into beautiful, personalised Christmas decorations.

Choose Your Bauble
Your creative workshop fee is £10 per person, which includes Annabel’s guided session and workshop materials.
Choose your ceramic bauble(s) separately on the day:
- Small bauble — £12
- Large bauble — £18
You’re welcome to create one bauble or choose more if you feel inspired.
