Family Garden Design

This medium size family garden in Virginia Water was designed to be highly sustainable, self-sufficient, and deeply connected to nature. Embracing a rustic, natural aesthetic, the garden blends food production with elegant outdoor living, showing how thoughtful design can create a productive, low-impact environment without compromising beauty.

A warm palette of red brick, natural limestone, and earthy tones forms the foundation of the space, creating cohesion between functional areas. At the heart of the garden sits a bespoke, family-friendly Garden Studio, featuring a striking stacked-log façade that echoes the timber outdoor kitchen positioned closer to the house. Together, these elements create a harmonious flow between working, growing, cooking, and socialising outdoors.

The design also includes a dedicated al fresco dining and entertaining area, allowing the family to enjoy the garden’s harvest in a serene and inviting setting. A carefully curated planting scheme focuses on edible and medicinal species, ensuring the garden remains both productive and ecologically sensitive throughout the year.
